The Game Table

A private table, a shared game.

Overview

Multiplayer card and board games with private rooms and deliberate host handoff.

Key capabilities

  • Play Color Match in private rooms with humans and optional bots, or CATAN with humans.
  • Share invitations, manage seats, and reconnect to an existing guest seat.
  • Transfer a live round to a connected successor when the host deliberately leaves.

Under the hood

Technical decisions

Rules live in Rust

Browser Wasm runs game rules, with native and WASI replay checks supporting deterministic verification.

Make host transfer explicit

A successor validates a privileged checkpoint before a server-coordinated handoff. The host remains trusted with hidden game state.

Current limitations

Public internet multiplayer is not yet deployed and needs HTTPS and TURN configuration. Unexpected host loss has no saved-game recovery; rooms expire or disappear on server restart.
